This administration is going to be one leftist attempt at control after another. Now that they feel they have the momentum following a narrow victory in the House last night, the puppets for the eco-Marxists want swift action to cripple America via cap and trade legislation:
Senator John Kerry, who has spearheaded climate legislation, said that White House officials can now “pour their energy and attention” into the issue after Sunday’s down-to-the-wire vote on expanding health care coverage.
“In the wake of health care’s passage, we have a strong case to make that this can be the next breakthrough legislative fight,” the Massachusetts Democrat argued.
“Climate legislation is the single best opportunity we have to create jobs, reduce pollution and stop sending billions overseas for foreign oil from countries that would do us harm,” Kerry said.
How? Exactly how does this climate legislation create jobs? It sure didn’t in Spain:
Every “green job” created with government money in Spain over the last eight years came at the cost of 2.2 regular jobs, and only one in 10 of the newly created green jobs became a permanent job, says a new study released this month. The study draws parallels with the green jobs programs of the Obama administration.
That’s brilliant, John. Just like modeling a national health care plan after one that has resulted in higher health care premiums and the highest health care costs in the country.
Your means of reducing pollution is asinine. The plan is to cap carbon emissions and require companies to either meet the mandate or buy carbon credits. In Europe, companies have simply paid the fines.
Meanwhile, the cap on carbon dioxide emissions will result in higher energy prices, which will impact the price of…everything. Not my words, but Barack Obama’s:
How is a business supposed to hire new employees when everything they buy now costs more? Everything a business buys will have to be manufactured. That plant will have higher costs due to higher electrical bills, resulting in higher costs to the buyer, who then passes that cost on to the consumer.
It will be like this for everything in America. How exactly will this stimulate the economy or create jobs?
I’m no Nobel Prize winning economist, but this seems pretty simple to me.
