U.S. to Give Mexico 10,849,067,971Pesos

That’s about a cool billion U.S. dollars. Tax dollars. Going to Mexico.

So they can…wait for it…fight against drugs.

The US intends to supply Mexico with a $1bn aid package to help combat an increasingly costly and violent war against drugs, according to a top Mexican diplomat.

The agreement, which some experts have dubbed ”Plan Mexico” after the controversial multi-billion-dollar anti-narcotics package the US established with Colombia in 2000, would be spread out over two years and include the supply of intelligence, training and equipment such as helicopters and boats.

I guess it isn’t enough to fund our own failing war on drugs, now we need to subsidize Mexico’s. Because you know, they can’t afford it themselves.

However, Carlos Rico, Mexico’s undersecretary for North American affairs, said the plan would not resemble the aid package with Colombia. In particular, he said, no US troops would be allowed to operate on Mexican soil, thus sidestepping the particularly sensitive issue of Mexican sovereignty.

See, now someone in the Mexican government owes me a new keyboard, because I just spit Mountain Dew all over this one. Since when does the Mexican government care about a nation’s sovereignty? They certainly don’t give a rip about ours. And why is it fine for Mexican troops to not only operate on American soil, but to fire on Americans?

Outrageous.

How much more of this can a country take?

Not one more dollar to the corrupt government south of the border. End the failed war on drugs. Most conservatives don’t like that idea, but it is doing more harm than good. Learn from Prohibition. The Mafia is its greatest accomplishment. Oh, and take that billion for Mexico and use it to build the fence.
