Having Solved America’s Ills, Sen. Chuck Schumer Focuses on the iPhone 4 Grip of Death Fiasco

In the grand scheme of things I think Senators would be focued on, I never considered that the reception I get on my cell phone would be among them. However, despite the condition of the country, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-unce) has decided it’s time Congress got involved in the iPhone 4′s grip of death glitch:

July 15, 2010

Dear Mr. Jobs,

I write to express concern regarding the reception problem with the Apple iPhone 4. While I commend Apple’s innovative approach to mobile technology and appreciate its service to millions of iPhone users nationwide, I believe it is incumbent upon Apple to address this flaw in a transparent manner. According to Consumer Reports’ review, released Monday on its website, the iPhone 4′s signal-strength problem is a hardwire glitch triggered by gripping the device in a particular manner. This finding, according to Consumer Reports, “call[s] into question” Apple’s recent claim that the problem is “largely an optical illusion caused by faulty software.” Consumer Reports declined to recommend the iPhone 4 because of this hardware design flaw.

  1. The Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill
  2. The $1 trillion budget deficit
  3. Securing America’s borders from invasion
  4. The War on Terrorism

Just making a list of things I would prefer Sen. Schumer focused on instead of the fact Mac fanboys have a problem with their new toy.

  1. School Choice
  2. Federal money spent on abortions in Pennsylvania
  3. Reform that involves Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae

I can do this all day. There have to be 100 things this clown should be focued on besides some constituents iPhone.

I’m all for Senators serving the people they represent, but at what point do you say, “Huh? You want me to do something about your cell’s glitches? Um, yeah. Let me refer you to someone who can actually help you. I have bigger fish to fry.”
