Howard Dean was on Fox News and started dropping accusations of racism like he got them at a two for one sale.
Then, Chris Wallace had all he could stand:
This is what the left does. They have done it for decades. They don’t need facts. They don’t need to back it up.
They just drop a racist bomb and walk away.
Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. In conflict tactics there are certain rules that [should be regarded] as universalities. One is that the opposition must be singled out as the target and ‘frozen.’…
“…any target can always say, ‘Why do you center on me when there are others to blame as well?’ When your ‘freeze the target,’ you disregard these [rational but distracting] arguments…. Then, as you zero in and freeze your target and carry out your attack, all the ‘others’ come out of the woodwork very soon. They become visible by their support of the target…’
Here’s the most telling part of the exchange, which I think show you exactly what this is about. It certainly isn’t about facts.
It’s about tarring Fox News as racists and attempting to marginalize them:
WALLACE: Let me ask my question and then you can answer. Why do you think the Obama White House administration fired her before she name ever appeared on Fox News?
If you think Dean was going to answer this great question, think again:
DEAN: Did you play, did Fox News play the clip that turned out to be inaccurate?
WALLACE: After she was fired.
DEAN: Right. I don’t think it matters whether it was before or after.
That’s what this is all about. It doesn’t matter that Fox had nothing to do with Sherrod’s firing. It is still their fault. During the interview, Dean attempted to justify the Obama administration’s overreaction by saying Beck was going to play it, so she had to go.
This is what passes for logic in Howard Dean’s world.
