Are the Dems Trying to Stop the War in Iraq by Provoking Turkey?

Try to understand why in the world the Dems would pass a resolution about a massacre carried out by the Ottoman Turks in 1915. Why would they even care about what happened in Turkey close to one hundred years ago? Consider this:

About 70 percent of U.S. air cargo headed for Iraq goes through Turkey as does about one-third of the fuel used by the U.S. military there. Turkish truckers also carry water and other supplied to U.S. bases.

In addition, cargo planes fly supplies to U.S. soldiers in remote areas of Iraq from Incirlik, avoiding the use of Iraqi roads vulnerable to bomb attacks. U.S. officials say the arrangement helps reduce American casualties.

traitor.jpgThe Dems write up and debate a resolution that they know is going to anger the only Muslim country in NATO, a valuable ally in the war, because they hope that they will then cut off the easiest supply route to our military fighting in Iraq. And it’s working:

“If this resolution passed in the committee passes the House as well, our military ties with the U.S. will never be the same again,” Gen. Yasar Buyukanit told the daily Milliyet newspaper.

Despite the general’s strong words, it is not clear how far Turkey will go to express its dismay to Washington.

Turkey suspended its military ties with France last year after the French parliament’s lower house adopted a bill that that would have made it a crime to deny that the Armenian killings constituted a genocide.

Not content to declare the military effort a failure, not enough to label the troops as Nazis (note the source of this story) not enough to call them cold blooded murderers, the Dems have to cut off the main supply route to them.

Which side of this war are the Democrats on? I mean, I understand they are against the war. That’s fine, be against it. But don’t hang the military out to dry because you want the war to end. It isn’t their fault you can’t get anything done in Congress. Don’t throw them under the bus because of your agenda.
