Harry Reid, in an effort to get Rush Limbaugh off the air, fired a letter to the head of Clear Channel condemning some comments they made up and attributed to Limbaugh. Rush took the letter, put it on Ebay and sold it for over $2,000,000. Limbaugh matched the amount from the auction and donated it to Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation Inc., a non-profit outfit that provides scholarships and other assistance to the families of Marines and other law enforcement personnel who die or are wounded.
So, Limbaugh took the attack on him, flipped it around and ended up giving over $4 million to a charity. So, along comes Harry Reid and tries to get in on the action. What a fraud.
On the Senate floor on Friday, however, Reid praised the positive outcome of the clash.
“Everyone knows that Rush Limbaugh and I don’t agree on everything in life and maybe that is kind of an understatement,” Reid said as the auction was in its final hours. “I strongly believe when we can put our differences aside, even Harry Reid and Rush Limbaugh, we should do that and try to accomplish good things for the American people.”
Right. Like you did anything here but try to silence a private citizen.
Rush has asked Reid to match the amount. He has yet to do anything like that. So much for trying to accomplish good things for the American people.
Now, check this out. you know the story here. Reid tries to throw Limbaugh under the bus. Rush flips the script and a charity gets four million dollars. Check out the last line to the ABCNews.com article on this:
The bidding ends at 1:00p.m. No mater what, Democrats are going to make a ton of money for a charity off their political vitriol.
The Democrats had nothing to do with the making of money here. In fact, while they have been asked to donate, they have not. What a total crock.
