The stupidity of this story just makes my brain hurt.
A police report states that shortly after 5 o’clock on Tuesday, a person called Miami University police to report some suspicious ropes hanging from a tree. Officers found eight ropes in all hanging from the tree on the west side of Patteson Place, seven of them tied into nooses and one with a tire tied to it.
The student at the display says it was part of an assignment to create a controversial art display and was not racially motivated. After being confronted by officers, he removed the ropes.
This kid better get an “A” for his art project.
University President David Hodge says, “I am deeply trouble by this incident and the insensitivity that it reflects. I am dismayed that any person on this campus…would even unintentionally create such a display.”
Well Mr. University President, I’m pretty sure this was an intentional display, what with it being an art project assigned by a member of your faculty. I’m deeply troubled that the University would hand out the assignment asking kids to be controversial and then be surprised when the kid does what you asked him to do. Are you so blindly liberal that you can’t even keep your stupidity straight? Put down the bong and come check out reality Mr. Hodge.
Hodge has asked for a complete investigation into the incident. So far, there have been no criminal charges and Hodge is encouraging students, staff and faculty to discuss the meaning of the incident. [source]
I can save everybody a lot of time and money. The meaning of the incident is that the kid was given an assignment to create a controversial art display and he aced that assignment. David Hodge is a moron if this isn’t obvious to him.
The idea that there would be criminal charges against this kid is asinine.
