You can milk a cat? Sure, you can milk anything that has nipples. . .
By Sara Lester • Nov 19th, 2007And according to Heather Mills, we should.
Heather said that eating meat and dairy and chopping down trees in order to breed lifestock was seriously damaging the environment and she suggested there were more eco-friendly alternatives to using cow’s milk.
“Why don’t we drink rat’s milk or cat’s milk or dog’s milk?” she asked.
Of course, she doesn’t really believe that we should milk rats. Instead, she believes we should all be forced to eat the way she eats- no meat, no dairy, no animal products of any kind. Just veggies.
“I became a vegetarian for health reasons. Then I found out about the awful animal abuse in factory farms and dairy herds and became a vegan.
“The easiest and most effective way of cutting our contribution is to change our diet and go vegan. It is that simple.”
I wonder if she ever thinks about how many rats and their homes are destroyed in the process of plowing, planting, storing, and transporting her vegetables. What about the rats’ rights and feelings? How can she be so cruel as to eat vegetables that are grown in land where deer once frolicked? Don’t get me wrong- she has just as much right to eat only veggies as I have to eat only meat. If it’s because she believes it’s healthier, great. If she thinks she’s saving the world, that’s fine too. Just don’t try to force us all to share in your “cows are causing global warming” crusade.
Miss Mills, 39, said: “The startling truth is that animals farmed for meat and dairy are now one of the greatest threats to the planet.
Heather is currently consorting with Viva, an “animals charity,” to spread the message that animals are killing the Earth as fast, if not faster, than humans.
Viva! director Juliet Gellatley said; “Livestock are the second biggest cause of greenhouse gasses at 18 per cent compared to 13.5 per cent from all the world’s different modes of transport combined.
“They are the major cause of both species extinction and the felling of tropical.”
I never knew cows were so dangerous. Next time I bite into a thick, juicy steak, I’ll think about what Heather said. . .and laugh.
