Is this Bias, Or Am I Being Too Sensitive?

One of the things I liked about today’s debate was when Fred Thompson refused to answer a question with a simple raise of a hand. I thought it was a great moment for him and for the debates in general. The candidates don’t get enough time to really get into an issue before they get cut off, and anthropogenic global warming is a pretty deep issue. Reducing it to a simple physical gesture is silly.

ABC News has referred to that moment in the debate as the “Thompson Debate Tantrum“:

“I just decided that I wasn’t going to engage in any of this monkey business that they like to engage us on sometimes — making us look like trained monkeys reaching for peanut or something … 30 seconds is brief enough and when they try to reduce your answer to just a hand raise — I ‘aint going to play that game,” the former Tennessee senator said.

I would hardly call it a tantrum and I think ABC is trying to make Fred look childish. What do you think?
