Want national health care? Better put out that cigarette and hit the gym:
Patients could be required to stop smoking, take exercise or lose weight before they can be treated on the National Health Service, Gordon Brown has suggested.
In a New Year message to NHS staff, the Prime Minister indicates people may have to fulfil few “responsibilities” in order to establish their entitlement to care.
Conditions on health care are nothing new. Think about this before you vote for a candidate who advocates a greater role for government in your health care. We are talking about Uncle Sam getting in between you and your doctor and saying, “Um, before I’ll let you see the doctor, you’re gonna have to lose a few pounds.”
Every Democratic candidate advocates this style of health care. You really want them telling you what to do with your body? So much for being pro-choice.
