Why I Am Voting For Ron Paul

Super Tuesday is just a few days away, and I am casting my vote for Dr. Ron Paul. I am an enthusiastic Ron Paul supporter, and I’d like to tell you why I believe he is the best person for the job at this time.

Ron PaulAfter the last several Presidents, I am tired of scandal and lies. Bush lied to get us into a war, Clinton couldn’t keep his jimmy holstered, Bush Sr. and Reagan had the Iran-Contra affair although they couldn’t remember doing it. I’m just sick of whatever-gate. It isn’t unreasonable to expect the leader of the free world to be someone we can look at with admiration.

Ron Paul is a person who has lived a life worthy of our respect. Of his accomplishments, the fact that he has been married for 51 years is the most impressive to me. A successful marriage requires the ability to listen, understand, and compromise. It is a commitment to serving something bigger than yourself. I want a President with those qualities.

Ron Paul graduated from medical school in 1961 and then joined the Air Force where he was a flight surgeon. How many doctors volunteer to join the military today? I respect him for his military service, and I am incredibly impressed that he chose to serve his country when he could easily have gone into a lucrative private practice instead.

As a politician, Ron Paul has earned the nickname “Dr. No” because he has consistently voted against legislation that is not authorized by the Constitution. There are too many politicians that don’t respect, or even understand the Constitution. America is the greatest nation in the history of the world. The reason we have freedoms that other nations only dream of is because the men who crafted the Constitution left us a pretty clear set of instructions for success. Ron Paul is the only candidate who seems to understand these instructions.

When the President takes the oath of office, he swears to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States”. I want a President who understands what that oath means, and will honor it, as I know Ron Paul will.

The decision for me was simple. I don’t care who has the better poll numbers, and I don’t care who they talk about the most on CNN. I care about the qualities of the candidate. There is no question in my mind that Ron Paul is truly the man who can bring respectability back to the oval office. And there is no question in my mind that Ron Paul has the integrity and honesty to act in the best interest of the constitution and the American people. It’s been too long since we had a man like that in office. That, my friends, is why I am voting for Ron Paul.
