If You Ever Want to Talk to Your Congressman…

…don’t do it at a public event that he is participating in, and one that you brought your wife and kids to.

I saw Sam today at the Tarkio Fly-In but between the time he spent on stage talking about the planes and the events at the show, and between walking around with my family and fetching cool drinks (it was 96° last I checked), I didn’t get much time to talk. When I had an opportunity he was busy. When I was doing something, I didn’t see him.

Finally, with my family waiting for me in the car, I approached him as he stood on stage. I shook his hand and told him that I appreciated his letter, that earmarks piss me off and thanks for making the list I mentioned in the last post. I just didn’t feel like getting into an in depth debate on the role of federal funding in state and local issues. Not in the middle of an air show anyway.

Maybe I’ll send him another letter.
