I said last night on Jenn of the Jungle’s podcast that John McCain needs to thank the New York Times for writing such a blatant hit piece on him. I said that while conservative may not like John McCain, we hate the New York Times more and all they did was get the base to support him.
Turns out, I pretty much nailed it:
The controversy even prompted McCain’s right-wing critics, who have been icy to the moderate senator, to unite behind him.
“This is beyond disgraceful,” Sean Hannity said on WABC radio. “This is the most despicable act of liberal bias that I have seen in my life.”
Rush Limbaugh called the story a “stamp of lies” and likened it to Dan Rather’s discredited “60 Minutes” story four years ago about President Bush’s National Guard record.
Scott Reed, a longtime GOP strategist, noted, “Nothing will rally conservatives around McCain like shabby reporting from The New York Times.”
Nice work, Pinch. You did in one day what would have taken McCain the next few months to accomplish.
