More Progress in Iraq

The more our military can rely on the leaders of Iraq, the better the chances of success.  I am not referring to the political leaders in Bahgdad, but the leaders the average Iraqi looks to for guidance:  the sheiks.  The sheiks are now on our side:

One day after the tribes in the city of Taji in Salahadin province pledged to fight al Qaeda in Iraq and the Mahdi Army, a tribal meeting was held in the city of Khalis in Diyala province. Seventy-five tribal leaders gathered and vowed to fight al Qaeda in Iraq, its Islamic State front, and other insurgent groups. “Here, right now, I am denouncing the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Qaeda,” said one sheik in attendance.

Now, al Qaeda faces a larger American military force and the weight of the Iraqi sheiks.  Hopefully, together they can bring this war to close and bring security to Iraq.  Then, they can have their country.
