The Best Global Warming Videos on the Internet: Part 1 - The Documentaries

By Duane Lester • Jun 2nd, 2008

First things first.

I would love to take credit for collecting all of these videos, but I can’t. The credit goes to a Free Republic user named Entrepreneur. Earlier this year, the first part of several posts were made that listed video after video that the Church of Global Warming would love to confiscate and burn, along with the creators.

It was a great series of posts, and a great resource for heretics. But I thought it would be better to have the videos on one page, rather than a set of links. So, I thought about making some pages for the site with the videos on them. While I could do that, it would be easier to create a series of posts, embed the videos in them and link them up in the Archives.

So here we are.

The first in the series was the Documentaries. And there is no better place to start than “The Great Global Warming Swindle.” Entrepreneur wrote:

In the film, Patrick Moore, who was a Greenpeace co-founder, summed up the state of environmental activism today. He said, “Because world communism failed, the wall came down, and a lot of peaceniks and political activists moved into the environmental movement bringing their neo-marxism with them and learned to use green language in a very clever way to cloak agendas that actually have more to do with anti-capitalism and anti-globalization than they do anything with ecology or science.”

This video has aroused the ire of the greenies. As a result, it seems to disappear every few days. Fortunately, someone always reloads it, so if you can’t find it at one of the links below, try a Google or alltheweb.com video search for “Great Global Warming Swindle.”

(Update: The YouTube version was pulled on June 19, 2008, so I replaced it with the full version from Garage.tv. Enjoy.)

The second documentary listed is the Canadian Broadcasting Company’s show “Global Warming Doomsday Called Off.” This video “systematically takes apart the infamous “hockey stick” chart by Michael Mann.”

In “An Inconvenient Truth… Or Convenient Fiction,” Steven Hayward makes the claim that things are getting better, not worse. He says, according to Entrepreneur, “the environment is much too important to be left in the hands of environmentalists.” The video also challenges the IPCC economic assumptions.

We have written about the idea that the world is facing global cooling> instead of warming. The History Channel made a documentary called “Megafreeze” which detailed this different perspective of climate change. Within a few decades, the world could be a lot colder because of a lack of solar activity. Entrepreneur wrote:

This is truly frightening climate change, based on factual history, not theoretical models of complex systems. Yet, the History Channel tends to bow to the mainstream, politically correct views, so 30 minutes into the video it shifts to blaming man for causing future global cooling from global warming. The nod to politically correct anthropogenic climate change keeps the producers from getting the Durkin treatment.

Megafreeze

Back before the United Nations conference in Rio, which led to the Kyoto Protocol, the same British channel that later created “The Great Global Warming Swindle” made “Greenhouse Conspiracy.” One of the things cited in this video is the “urban island effect.” It also shows the benefits (yes, benefits) of higher carbon dioxide levels, “showing a research study where trees in a greenhouse with 1,000 ppm of CO2 flourish, compared to trees in a greenhouse with atmospheric levels of CO2.”

Right now, the CO2 level has not reached 400 ppm. It sits at about 385 ppm, or 0.0385% of the atmosphere.

Greenhouse Conspiracy

John Stossel told Al Gore to give him a break with all the global warming hysteria. He says, “What you think you know, might not be so.” Surprisingly, Al Gore was not available for an interview. Still, Stossel puts together a great piece for 20/20.

Finally, we have Glenn Beck’s environmental masterpiece, “Exposed: The Climate of Fear.” It is important to give Beck credit for getting CNN to fair this, as it takes the global warming hysteria apart, piece by piece. The video features Bjorn Lomborg, Patrick Moore, John Christy and Chris Horner, author of the “Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming.” He also destroys Mann’s Hockey Stick chart.

And, he shows video of Al Gore refusing to join Kyoto until China and other developing nations are held to the same standard as the United States. Yeah, that Al Gore. This is a great video.

In the thread of the Free Republic post, another user linked to “Global Warming or Global Governance.” A review on Amazon.com on the video says:

This video picks up were The Great Global Warming Swindle leaves off. The first part goes into the science, so if you’ve seen the previously mentioned video there will not be any major revelations here. Human induced global warming is a sham - and the real science proves it. The second half of the documentary covers the why? Why is it that radical anti-capitalist, anti-Americans, and even anti-humans make up a good percentage of the global warming alarmist leadership? Is it because these pro-Marxist and socialist failed to achieve their goals by revolution and popular vote? Have they turned to the United Nations with the hopes that international treaties will see their utopian dreams fulfilled and control every area of the world economy with eyes fixed on the United States? Watch and then decided for yourself.

Sounds like a good idea.

Well, that’s it as of today. If there are any more in the future, I’ll try to put them here in updates. If you know of any that are not here, send me an e-mail (by clicking “E-mail this author” below) and let me know. Thanks again to Entrepreneur of Free Republic for the initial work on this list.

Updated (June 9, 2008) -

Warren Meyer of Climate Skeptic produced a video to go along with his book “A Skeptical Layman’s Guide to Anthropogenic Global Warming.”

He has broken the video into parts, with each part covering a section of the book. It is a long video, so it may be easier to cover in pieces.

Part One of What is Normal? A Critique of Catastrophic Man-Made Global Warming Theory - Introduction; how greenhouse gases work; historical climate reconstructions
Part Two of What is Normal? A Critique of Catastrophic Man-Made Global Warming Theory - Historical reconstructions; problems with proxies
Part Three of What is Normal? A Critique of Catastrophic Man-Made Global Warming Theory - How much warming is due to man; measurement biases; natural cycles in climate
Part Four of What is Normal? A Critique of Catastrophic Man-Made Global Warming Theory - Role of the sun; aerosols and cooling; climate sensitivity; checking forecasts against history
Part Five of What is Normal? A Critique of Catastrophic Man-Made Global Warming Theory - Positive and negative feedback; hurricanes.
Part One of What is Normal? A Critique of Catastrophic Man-Made Global Warming Theory - Melting ice and rising oceans; costs of CO2 abatement; conclusions.

For all my friends who read the blog and don’t like foul language (yes, there are a select few out there who have never heard me swear), consider this your warning. The following videos are filled with it. After all, the name of the series is “Bullsh*t!

The first sentence in this video is Penn saying “What the f*uck are we gonna do?” So, if you don’t want to hear that kind of language, don’t watch this collection. Your ears will not like what you hear.

Now that I have presented a very clear disclaimer, I give you:
