Edwards Flips, Says He’ll Be VP for Obama

By Duane Lester • Jun 16th, 2008

Remember when John Edwards said this:

“I have no interest in running for VP.”

or this:

The former presidential candidate, who was the 2004 Democratic vice presidential nominee, continued to flatly maintain has no interest in the job. Traveling in Spain Friday, Edwards told two separate newspapers it’s not a role he is willing to take again.

How about this?

“Won’t happen…. It’s just not something I am interested in.”

Well, someone is singing a different tune these days:

ABC News’ Mary Bruce reports: 2004 Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards this morning left open the possibility of a second run for the position. “I’d take anything he [Obama] asked me to think about seriously,” Edwards explained in a “This Week” interview with George Stephanopoulos.

I imagine if Barack asked, he would also carry his baby, ala “Junior.”
