Red State notes that in opposition research, Alaska Democrat Party released the Governor’s social security number…well, all but the last four:
In the file, the Democrats have released Sarah Palin’s social security number minus the last four digits. Also tied to the information are her various home addresses.
Back in 2005, Democrats used Michael Steele’s social security number to get his credit record.
It is atrocious that the Democrats would not only seek out Sarah Palin’s social security number, but release it in opposition research to the press.
Big deal, right? I mean, they didn’t release the whole number, so what’s the big deal?
How often are you asked for the last four numbers of your social security number? I recall being asked that quite a bit, actually. It’s the first five that are usually held back. By releasing the first five, all a person has to do is find documentation with the last four, which in this day shouldn’t be that hard.
A freeper notes:
It’s not just her SSN. This document has the VIN of every single vehicle—cars, trucks, ATVs, trailers—that Sarah or Todd Palin have owned since 1994. It’s got an address in Wasilla that maybe was where they lived before she became Governor and a phone number as well.
Seems to me that this is politics as usual. Wasn’t it the Democrats that were against wiretapping terror suspects?
