I’m not a big fan of John McCain. I actually voted for Romney just to keep McCain from winning Missouri (and I don’t like Romney either.) I still don’t want to vote for John McCain.
Sorry.
I have grown to like him a little more in the past month, especially following his performance at Saddleback. I thought he had a fantastic night there. But I don’t agree with him on a lot of things. I’ve been through them before, and don’t need to go through them here. I know most of you have read my reasoning for not supporting him in the past.
But that was before Sarah.
Sarah Palin has changed my opinion of this ticket. In selecting Sarah Palin, John McCain may have possibly named the first female President of the United States at the same time. I know I am getting ahead of myself, and no, I’m not suggesting that McCain will die in office. I don’t wish McCain any ill will in any way.
Sarah Palin has brought more than I expected to this race. She has energy and confidence and can communicate her message clearly. She has already been compared to Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan. And she scares the daylights out of the left.
She is the future of the Republican Party.
That is why I will be voting McCain/Palin this November. I’ll vote McCain/Palin not because of John McCain, but for Sarah Palin, and a new generation of conservative leaders in the Republican Party. In four years, if McCain decides to step down, Sarah Palin will be there to step into the role as candidate, possibly facing off against Hillary Clinton. If McCain serves a second term, all the better for Sarah.
So, this isn’t a vote for John McCain so much as it is a vote for Palin ‘12 or Palin ‘16. Maybe Bobby Jindal will think about a vice presidential role then.
