The Taliban tried a rare frontal attack on a US led- coalition base in Southern Afghanistan today.  Seventy-five hard-core jihadis attacked the base from three sides with gunfire, grenades and mortars. 

It didn’t work out so well for them.

“Almost two dozen insurgents were confirmed killed in the attack,” the statement said. Two girls and two Afghan soldiers were wounded during the fight in Uruzgan province, it said.
