What a week it was!
I am officially back home from my trip to Las Vegas, where I attended the Conservative Leadership Conference and the Blog World Expo. Both were great experiences, but the speakers at the CLC were a real treat. I don’t say this in disrespect to the conservative bloggers I listened to at Blog World. In fact, I honestly believe that if they had to choose between listening to themselves or the CLC speakers, they would pipe down and listen up.
After all, at the CLC, I heard speeches from:
- Ward Connerly
- Grover Norquist
- Paul Seidler, Nuclear Energy Institute
- Seton Motley, Media Research Center
- Ed Martin, former Chief of Staff for Gov. Matt Blunt
- Michael Tanner, The Cato Institute

At the CLC, I also met Elizabeth Crum from E! The True Conservative Story, Eric Odom from The Sam Adams Alliance, Ken Marrero from Blue Collar Muse and the Cranky Hermit (and I knew you were a blogger because I saw you at Blogworld.)
I also met Horace Cooper, Lt Col. Allen West, Paul Jacobs of Citizens in Charge, and had dinner with Chris Simcox.
And, I was interviewed on the Roger Hedgecock show. All in all, it was a great conference.
The best part of Blogworld Expo was a ten minute conversation with Jon Henke, where we discussed the future of political blogging; he highlighted my ignorance of local politics and gave us some ideas for future projects. And meeting Darren Rowse was pretty cool also.
Don’t misunderstand me. I’m sure that Blogworld was great for some folks, but if you want to meet some great people and listen to informative speeches, focus on gatherings like the CLC and CPAC. That’s what Andrew and I have decided to do.
Anyway, this past week has given me a lot of new ideas and motivated me to do more. Hopefully you, my dedicated reader, will stick around, subscribe if you haven’t and enjoy the ride.
