The State of The Blog Address

For the last two weeks, I’ve been working on the website. First, we moved our hosting to a new, much better, server. We’d been on GoDaddy since we started All American Blogger, and we were starting to need some things from them that they just couldn’t provide.

I’ll be honest about this, it’s been a harrowing couple of weeks in the tech department. The good news is that things are finally starting to be back to normal. The site is much faster now, and we’ve been able to do a few things that we’ve been wanting to do for a while.

There are a few new things we’ve added to All American Blogger. One is the new All American Blogger DOT NET, where anyone can sign up for a free blog. It’s free for you, and doesn’t have to be about politics. Why did we do this? Because we can, and because we thought it would be a nice thing to do. So if you want to get started blogging, check out allamericanblogger.net and sign up.

We’re going to start publishing a newsletter some time in the next few weeks. It will be sent out once a week, and it will be free. It’s going to have highlights from the past week’s posts on All American Blogger, and we plan to include some content exclusive to the newsletter. You can get signed up by clicking HERE.

And the final thing is the All American Blogger State Editions we’re launching on the .ORG side. It’s going to be in Beta status while we work out some bugs and get it all working smoothly, but you can check it out now at http://states.allamericanblogger.org

So what is AAB State Editions? It’s a place where state level bloggers can run a blog hosted by us, to cover political news on a state level. It will be limited to one blog per state + one for D.C. Although AAB State Editions are part of the AAB family, they will be editorially independent. It will be a community of affiliated independent bloggers who each do their own thing, but also work together to share ideas and make all the blogs stronger and better. We’re starting with just a few states, and we’ll be adding new states over time. If you’re a conservative blogger who would like to be involved with this project, feel free to send an email to admin[at]allamericanblogger.com

Heading into the end of the year, we’ve got a lot of work ahead of us. With all the things we’ve done over the last couple of weeks we’re going to have a good foundation to build on.

We also want to thank our regular contributors, Andrew Min, Travis Farral, Sara Lester, Doug Weber, Rob Burke, and our newest weekly contributor Chris Deaton. You guys rock.

Andrew Riley is an idealist, a dreamer, and occasionally a real son-of-a-bitch. He spends his days webmastering this blog, writing for this blog, and more importantly filling his four year old son's head with silly nonsense. He is an Army veteran, a conservative Libertarian, and gets bored with most people pretty quickly. 4 out of 5 dentists agree that he is way cooler than you.
