Tommy Thompson said he would quit if he didn’t win or come in second in the Iowa Straw Poll. He came in sixth, behind Ron Paul. So, he quit.
The AP reports he is going to take some time off before going back to work in the private sector and doing non-profit work. This guy visited all 99 counties in Iowa and was working hard to get votes. I guess his message just didn’t resound with the voters.
