New Jersey bill A3123 (Requires registration and oversight of home education programs), the restrictive anti-homeschooling bill, isn’t going through without a fight from the homeschoolers. Assemblyman Patrick Diegnan (D-18), a member of the Education Committee (which is where the bill currently is), has announced his opposition, according to ENOCH of NJ and HSDLA:
Assemblyman Patrick Diegnan has indicated his support of our position. Please stop all calls to his office at this point! Thank you for all your calls. It’s been reported that 3 of the mailboxes are full in the offices we have asked you to call.

He may not be the most pro-school choice Assemblyman (his Vote Smart record is far from supportive), but Diegnan made the right choice. Here’s hoping the rest of the committee, including my Assemblyman Scott Rumana, end up doing the same.
