He must be doing something right.
Here’s how the tunnel-vision left wing at the Daily KOS sees Ron Paul…
The isolationist, tribal, to hell with the rest of you kind of libertarian. The kind that is diametrically opposed to equality, to progress, to social responsibility, to national responsibility, and to the very notion of the shared common good.
Paul is a colorful figure, fine. But it is high time for the national discourse to overtake him. When batshit crazy people have passed up an entire basket of admirably batshit crazy politicians in order to lend their batshit crazy support to him, I think what you can take from that is that Ron Paul is the chosen King of the Batshit Crazy.
Well that certainly sounds like an unbiased view.
The first thing that KOS did wrong was to criticize Ron Paul because David Duke and Stormfront support him. Anyone with functioning neurons in their head can spot the faulty reasoning there. “Well if the white supremacists like him, he must be bad”. Most of us stopped thinking like this somewhere around third or fourth grade.
Here’s a snippet from an article by Ron Paul concerning race.
in a free society every citizen gains a sense of himself as an individual, rather than developing a group or victim mentality. This leads to a sense of individual responsibility and personal pride, making skin color irrelevant. Rather than looking to government to correct our sins, we should understand that racism will endure until we stop thinking in terms of groups and begin thinking in terms of individual liberty.
Insinuating that Ron Paul is a racist is ludicrous and slanderous.
There is so much more, but I’m not going to go through it point by point. The people at KOS want a big government that is intrusive in every facet of our lives. They want a government that takes money from hard working people and gives it to people who are content to suck at the public tit. Ron Paul wants to work for a smaller, less intrusive government. Ron Paul wants people to be accountable for themselves. Ron Paul wants to balance the books and get us out of debt with countries like China. If that pisses off the socialist left, I say we need more of the same.
Ron Paul said “The Founding Fathers envisioned a robustly Christian yet religiously tolerant America, with churches serving as vital institutions that would eclipse the state in importance.”
KOS reads this and hears “the founding fathers wanted to discriminate on behalf of certain religions, and that morality cannot be accomplished absent Christianity.”
It’s almost comedic how much they’ve twisted Ron Paul’s words.
