eHarmoney, a Christian online dating service, has been sued by a gay man to force them to offer gay listing. eHarmony, rather than taking it to court, has settled:
The Pasadena-based dating website, heavily promoted by Christian evangelical leaders when it was founded, has agreed in a civil rights settlement to give up its heterosexuals-only policy and offer same-sex matches.
EHarmony was started by psychologist Neil Clark Warren, who is known for his mild-mannered television and radio advertisements. It must not only implement the new policy by March 31 but also give the first 10,000 same-sex registrants a free six-month subscription.
This is so wrong. Not because I am anti-gay. I’m anti-government screwing with the free market.
The fact reamins that there are plenty of online dating services for gays. A quick Google search for gay dating 3,680,000 results. Why does this guy have to force a business to provide a service they don’t offer?
And where does this stop? Does JDate.com have to offer listings to atheists? Does Qiran.com have to offer listings to Jews? Or gays? Does SoulSingles.com have to offer listings to Klan members?
