The illegal alien who spent close to a year in a Methodist Church in Chicago has been arrested in California. Elvira Arellano was taken into custody and is being processed for return to Mexico, according to a press release by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
It is about time too. Arellano was supposed to turn herself in in 2002, when she was discovered working at a Chicago air port. She was using a stolen Social Security number.
Her supporters, and by that I mean the people who are using her to promote the amnesty agenda and will discard her when she has served her purpose, are outraged that the rule of law has prevailed:
“We are sad, but at the same time we are angry,” said Javier Rodriguez, a Chicago immigration activist who worked with her. “How dare they arrest this woman?” (emphasis mine)
How dare they arrest this woman? You mean this felon, right? This convicted felon. This gate-crashing convicted felon who was already sent back to Mexico once for being here illegally. Sounds ridiculous when you say that, doesn’t it:
“How dare they arrest this gate-crashing convicted felon who was already sent back to Mexico once for being here illegally and then returned to break the law again?”
See, it makes a difference when you speak truthfully, doesn’t it?
Her son, often used like a prop in press conferences, is with his legal guardian here in America. He is a citizen of the country. While I agree this is traumatic for him, it is also important to remember this is his mother’s fault. She created the situation by breaking law after law in this country. She could have easily left the country on her own and saved her son from the fear and loneliness he is now experiencing. This is the result of her selfishness.
I have maintained that there are enough people here willing to house the child citizens of illegal immigrants that they need not worry about being sent back home. This is an example of that. If I were an illegal immigrant, I would be looking for a family to house my legal children in. Or consider taking them with me. But don’t pretend that you are the victim here. It’ll just make people angry.
