While Discussing Global Warming in Poland, It's Snowing in Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas

global egg copy Today wraps up the final day of discussions at Poznan, Poland.  The bureaucrats from over 200 countries met there to discuss the next treaty designed to redistribute money from the rich countries to the poor ones, all under the guise of halting global warming.

Meanwhile, it’s snowing in America.  Not in Minnesota, or Iowa.  Not even here in Missouri, although it was and is freezing cold here.

No, it was snowing in the deep South:

Parts of Louisiana were expected to get up to four inches of snow. Snow also covered a broad swath of Mississippi, including the Jackson area, and closed schools in more than a dozen districts. The National Weather Service in Jackson said up to 8 inches was possible in the southern and eastern parts of the state.

A heavy band of snow coated windshields and grassy areas in New Orleans, where the National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning.

Meanwhile, Texas is getting a record breaking winter blast:

The flurries tied a record for Houston’s earliest snowfall ever and warmed the hearts of winter weather lovers who have pined for snow since it last made an appearance on Christmas Eve 2004.

“I’ve got a pot roast in the Crock-Pot, and I’m going to go home, change into my warmest pajamas and eat pot roast and enjoy what may be the only real winter day we have all year,” said Tina Arnold, an Illinois native who took advantage of the wintry backdrop to pick up Christmas presents Wednesday at The Woodlands Mall.

Since 1895, records indicate, snow has fallen this early just once — on Dec. 10, 1944.

There are other events that need to be noted also.  Dennis Avery of the Hudson Institute says:

Don’t spend much of your “worry time” on a new climate treaty however, says Avery.  Global temperatures are doing their best to tell us that CO2 isn’t very important after all:

  • Global thermometers stubbornly refused to rise after 1998, and have plummeted in the past two years by more than 0.5 degree C.
  • The world is now colder than in 1940, when the Post-WWOII Industrial Revolution started spewing lots of man-made CO 2 in the first place.
  • On October 29, the United States beat or tied 115 low-temperature records for the date; Alaska, which was unusually warm last year, recorded 25 degrees below zero Fahrenheit that night — beating the previous low by 4 degrees F.
  • London had snow in October for the first time in more than 70 years.

The 2007-08 temperature drop wasn’t predicted by the global climate models, but it had been predicted by the sunspots since 2000.  Both the absent sunspots and the Pacific Decadal Oscillation now predict a 25-30-year global cooling.

So while over 200 countries conspire to shake down the richest countries, while Obama’s “green team” is greeted warmly (pun intended), snow is falling earlier than ever before, in places where it rarely falls at all.

By the way, the Sun still hasn’t started showing any signs of life, at least not like it had before:

This was another quiet week; the geomagnetic indicators hovered around zero and there were no sunspots. Look at the A values for mid-latitude, high latitude and global here. There was another unusually quiet period this week on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday (, similar to November 11, November 14, and November 18-24. Sunspot numbers for November 27-December 3 were 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 and 0 with a mean of 0.

How does a person expect me to believe that carbon dioxide, which is still being pumped into the atmosphere by the tons, is driving this climate change, when the temperatures are dropping?  This is nothing more than a socialist scam to redistribute money on a global level.  It started right here, with Maurice Strong.  It continues to this day with the full support of the United Nations, and now, the President of the United States.

The sad fact is that our only hope of stopping this is that it gets so cold that it makes it impossible to continue selling this false religion.  It’s sad because the cold kills far more people than the heat does.  Once again the bodies pile up at the feet of socialism.
