Expected Carbon Footprint of Obama Inauguration: 557 million pounds of CO2

I just read this over at Jeremy Buff’s Conservative Blog:

The Institute For Liberty scratched together some rough figures for illustrative purposes, and thechillingeffect.org’s new analysis Carbon Bigfoot finds:

  • Celebrities, politicians, and bigwigs using 600 private jets will produce 25,320,000 POUNDS of CO2
  • Personal vehicles could account for 262,483,200 POUNDS of CO2
  • In the parade, horses alone will produce more than 400 POUNDS of CO2
  • The total carbon footprint for the Inauguration will likely exceed 575 million POUNDS of CO2
  • It would take the average U.S. household 57,598 years to produce a carbon footprint equal to that of the new president’s housewarming party

Obama's carbon footprint

Total expected carbon footprint: 557 million pound of CO2.  Mmmmmm….that’s some good change there.

Where is the main stream media expose on this atrocity?  Oh, it is an atrocity, at least in leftist circles.  Remember, it is legal to damage coal burning power plants because they are such a danger to the world.

This is for one day.  We are talking about 252,653 metric tons of CO2.

And you can bet Obama will talk about the need to fight climate change in his speech.  The hypocrisy of the left is stunning.
