Congressman Enters Bill to Repeal 22nd Amendment

Why limit Obama’s Marxism to a mere 8 years when you can amend the Constitution and make it 20 or more?

I am assuming that is the thinking of Representative Jose Serrano (D-NY).  He introduced House Resolution 5, which would create “an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.”

This isn’t going anywhere.  It could pass the Congress, but then it has to go to the states.  This is where it dies.  It has to have 3/4 of the states go along with the idea.

You know that isn’t going to happen.  But if it does, 2/3 of the states have to call for a convention, where amendments are proposed.  Those proposals have to have  3/4 of the states agree to amend the Constitution.

Like I said, this isn’t going anywhere.

An interesting fact though:  over 10,000 amendments have been proposed since the country was founded.  It has only been amended 17 times since 1791.
