California Considering Banning Plasma Televisions to Save the World from a Fiery Death

Back in January, I wrote about the once great United Kingdom’s actions surrounding the use of liberty, meaning the citizens of the UK actually buying a plasma television.  Turns out that the huge flat screens were using more energy than the eco-marxists approved, so they had them banned.  At the time, I wrote:

You know this is coming to America. Count on it.

Thank you, California, for proving me right:

The California Energy Commission is proceeding with a proposal this summer to ban the sale of TV sets that do not meet new efficiency standards when they are turned on and displaying a picture — a measure of power consumption that is not currently regulated at all. But the market and technological advances may already be advancing this goal, as large-screen plasma sets fall out of favor and LCDs become more energy efficient.

While the invisible hand is doing it because it’s what the people choose, the government would remove choice and demand the change. All in the name of protecting the planet from global warming. How far will this be allowed to go?
