This takes some gall. The Mexican government is trying to get ambassador status for Elvira Arellano, the convicted felon who stayed in a Chicago Methodist church for a year and was recently deported. They want to name her Mexican ambassador of “peace and justice:”
Mexican Foreign Secretary Patricia Espinosa said she approached U.S. authorities on Arellano’s behalf after the 32-year-old asked Mexican President Felipe Calderon to help her return to the United States legally as a “peace and justice” ambassador.
…
“The government in the receiving country has to authorize diplomatic posts. It has to grant the visa,” Espinosa said. “It is not something that is within the power of the Mexican government alone.”
Does anyone else see a problem with a convicted felon being a foreign ambassador for justice? My vote is for an ambassador without a criminal record.
Now take a look at this. I have mentioned the arrogance of the pro-immigration movement, but this blew me away:
Arellano said she would not back down from her request and was angered that Mexico was seeking a U.S. visa, adding that the Mexican government should not have to ask permission to send her north of the border.
“I’m not asking for any visa,” she said. “I want a diplomatic post as ambassador of peace and justice, and I won’t accept anything less.” (emphasis mine.)
Un. Be. Leivable.Â
She is mad because the Mexican government is asking permission to cross our border. IT’S A FREAKIN’ BORDER! It’s not like you are getting your frisbee out of a neighbor’s lawn. No way this woman comes back in. I wouldn’t allow it.Â
