Ray Nagin, the Mayor of New Orleans, is considering running for governor of Louisiana.
A member of Nagin’s inner circle told The Associated Press last month that the second-term Democratic mayor planned to announce a run for governor shortly after Labor Day. He has already taken several fundraising trips, and his technical adviser secured the Internet address naginforgovernor.com.
Of the possibility of a run for higher office, the 51-year-old Nagin said: “The only way I would do something like that is if I thought it would help this recovery.”
If the state of Louisiana cannot see this man for the leadership disaster that he is, then they deserve him as governor. This is the same man who, shortly after the hurricane which devastated his city, made the following statement:
When he was called on his obvious racist statement, he recovered with “”Do you know much about chocolate? You make it by combining white milk with dark chocolate and you end up with a delicious drink!”
Please.
Take a look at the state of the Big Easy and ask yourself what kind of damage this man could do on a state level. But considering he was re-elected following Katrina, who knows what Louisiana will do.
