Mike Huckabee has called out Fred Thompson, and pretty much everyone else in the GOP race. Mike claims he is the ‘authentic conservative’ in the race:
“If we want to compare authentic conservatism, I’ll be happy to have not just my comments, but my record compared to anybody who stood on that stage or
anybody who didn’t stand on that stage last night,” Huckabee said.
Mike was especially harsh on Fred, saying that the reason Fred ducked the debate is because he couldn’t hang:
“I think the question is what was it about that debate that he didn’t want to be a part of,” Huckabee said. “Frankly, sometimes the reason somebody doesn’t show up for the game is they’re not sure they can perform well enough to win. It’s not a question of how good is the game, it is how good am I going to be playing it.”
I don’t know if Mike is the ‘authentic conservative’ or if that is the most important thing about this year’s election. I like Mike because of the Fair Tax and I think the biggest problems facing this country are the size of government, the intrusiveness of government and the slow march to socialism this country has been on for decades. Hopefully, Mike can start telling us more about his positions on those topics.
