A stunt pilot was practicing for the Wingnuts Flying Circus Air Show in Tarkio, Missouri when they crashed. It is unknown if the crash was due to mechanical failure or pilot error. The name of the pilot is being withheld until next of kin is notified.
I urge everyone reading this to offer prayers to the pilot and their family.
UPDATE:
The flag at the airport flies at half mast. The airshow will go on as scheduled.
UPDATE 2:
A friend of mine who was there when it happened said he overheard people say it was believed the pilot passed out from the G-forces. That’s all hearsay, so take it with a block of salt. But she was doing some stunts when it happened so it’s not outrageous to believe that could happen.
