As we enter into a new era of swine flu scare mongering, I though it would be interesting to see some of the ads from the last time Swine Flu was going to kill everyone:
Remember, this vaccine is linked to a fatal nerve disease. Plus, the last time people were vaccinated for swine flu, the vaccine killed more people than the flu did.
What are you going to do?
Before you answer that, think about this:
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) are requesting neurologists to report any possible new cases of Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) following 2009 H1N1 flu vaccination using the CDC and U. S. Food and Drug Administration Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS).
It is not anticipated that the 2009 H1N1 vaccine will have an increased risk of GBS. However, out of an abundance of caution, and given that GBS may be of greater concern with any pandemic vaccine because of the association of GBS with the 1976 swine flu vaccine, the CDC and AAN are asking neurologists to report any potential new cases of GBS after-vaccination as part of the CDC’s national vaccine safety monitoring campaign.
Um, I think I’ll take my chances with the flu.

All I can say is that the swine flu was an epedemic in my family and our community in 1976. While we all survived, including my unborn child, I thought I was never ever going to feel good again. So sick with fever and cough for 2 weeks that I couldn’t take care of myself let alone my toddler and when 3 weeks later I went back to work, I was so weak. I coughed for months after mostly recovering. I shudder to think about it. My recovery mirrored the rest of my family and friends. It was ugly.
I’m wondering, am I now immune to this swine flu? I suppose not.
