Things are looking down for Democrats and starting to look good for Republicans. If this trend continues, the pundits may be right and Republicans will take massive numbers of seats from Democrats in 2010:
Only about one-third of voters have a positive opinion of Congress — a 13 percent decline in favorability since April, a new Pew Research Center poll finds.
That striking drop in support — which Pew says puts Congressional favorability at its lowest in 24 years — is doubly discouraging for Democrats, who ceded ground to their Republican counterparts in Pew’s companion poll.
…
"At about this point four years ago, Democrats led in the generic congressional ballot by 52% to 40% and went on to win a majority of the popular vote and regain control of Congress the following November," according to the poll.
2010 is a long way away, politically, but this is a good sign that Republicans might be back in charge of things soon. If they want this to happen, then keep letting the left implode and then when the time is right, outline the conservative plan for health care reform, starting with tort reform.
Let the left defend major cuts in Medicare while defending trial lawyers simultaneously. Wonder how that will work for them…
