47% of Doctors Would Consider Quitting Under ObamaCare

Investors Business Daily has conducted a poll of over 1,300 doctors in America, asking for their opinion on the Democrat’s proposed health care overhaul. They aren’t too enthusiastic about the idea. According to the article, “Two-thirds, or 65%, of doctors say they oppose the proposed government expansion plan.”

As for covering the 47 million uninsured (a figure that includes all the illegal aliens in America, by the way), seven in ten doctors say there is no way to do it in a way that “will cost less money and the quality of care will be better.”

So, you’re trying to tell me that bringing in 47 million new customers, without increasing the number of doctors, would increase the burden on the medical system? Kind of a given, isn’t it?

However, one of the most important results of the poll is what would doctors do if this health care plan passes:

Four of nine doctors, or 45%, said they “would consider leaving their practice or taking an early retirement” if Congress passes the plan the Democratic majority and White House have in mind.

More than 800,000 doctors were practicing in 2006, the government says. Projecting the poll’s finding onto that population, 360,000 doctors would consider quitting.

47 million new patients, almost 50 % less doctors, but the quality of care won’t decrease and the cost won’t increase.

It seems to be to be a little too much to swallow.

47% say they will quit? Don’t let Obama hear about this or there will be some sort of early retirement tax on doctors.
