Rep. Alan Grayson is A Candidate for a Punch in the Mouth

Michelle Moore, the Director of Technology for Smart Girl Politics, told me about a thing she used to do on her blog, A Traditional Life Lived. She said she used to write posts about people she would like to punch in the face. She told me she wouldn’t really hit them, but she really wanted to.

That’s how I felt today listening to Rep. Alan Grayson talk on the floor of the House about what he described as the Republicans Health Care Plan.

This two minute speech really stretched my ability to blog without obscenities.

Joe Wilson said two words and the Congress voted to condemn him. This tool ranted for two full minutes, slandering every Republican in America, and he not only refused to apologize, he went further into lunacy by comparing the health care situation in American with the Holocaust:

Instead of saying he was sorry about accusing Republicans of wanting people to “die quickly,” he gave an apology “to the dead.”

“I would like to apologize,” he said. “I apologize to the dead and their families that we haven’t voted sooner to end this holocaust in America.”

His sarcasm, delivered on the House floor, drew a swift rebuke from the National Republican Congressional Committee, which hopes to see Grayson defeated in an Orlando-based swing district next year.

“This is an unstable man who has come unhinged,” NRCC spokesman Andy Sere said. “The depths to which Alan Grayson will sink to defend his indefensible comments know no bounds.”

As a reference, there were over six million Jews who died during the Holocaust. How many die from a lack of health care insurance in America? According to a recent study from Harvard Medical School researchers (tip of the hat to The Loud Talker), about 45,000 a year.

For reference, at that rate, it would take 133 years to equal the death toll the Nazis racked up in under a decade.

Nancy Pelosi has yet to condemn this lack of civility. Word is she is still crying over the harsh rhetoric coming from the right.

I don’t intend to punch anyone in the face, but I assure you one thing. When I find out who is running against this worthless jackass, I will be donating to his campaign.

And to any Democrats reading this, you know who I am talking to, is this who you are, because this is what your party has become. This speech has not been condemned by anyone in party leadership. Their silence is deafening. What you will find are scores of lefties not only defending him, but adamantly claiming he’s right.

But the right is the divisive side.

Interesting. And the Democrats’ plan is: Don’t get sick. If you do get sick, we’ll have to ration your care and give you ‘end of life therapy’ so that you die and we did ‘all we could’ to not save you.

NOW, would that be any better for someone to say? Unfortunately, there’s more truth to my rant than there is to his. And I don’t know why Democrats are jumping on this plan. They didn’t write it. They’re not reading it………… Let’s make sure they’re not passing it, too.

Don’t get all boo hoo now ok? How long have conservative and GOP members of congress and the senate been talking about death panels and killing grandma etc.Waaahhhh, he said the republicans want people to die quickly. This is a tactic right out of the GOP’s book. Call someone a traitor, unamerican, socialist, fascist….but when you get called names or pointed out for what you are, wahhhhhhhhhhh.

The GOP had the house and the senate and a sign anything president. Did they have ANY thought that healthcare was getting out of control and do anything about it? No. They sat on their hands and did nothing for this country. I applaud Grayson. He called out the GOP on what they are best at. Don’t bring up a plan. When someone does that you dont’ like and you have to get re elected in 2010, shoot it down no matter how bad things are.

At this point the GOP should acknowledge there is a problem with healthcare and put out their own plan. But the won’t. They will sit on the sidelines and play defense because they are too chicken $hit to do anything.

I like how Obama has slow played this. Uproar is settling. The Tea Parties are done. And now something will get passed. Rabbit and the hare….

the rabbit and the hare? wow, that’s a good one considering they’re the SAME THING. Contact your Republican Representatives for the “Republican plan”.

The Death panels DID exist martin. despite your comrades’ attempts to make fun of people bringing it up, a week later they said they’d remove them. Now, how does something non-existent get removed? oh that’s right, it DID exist, and people didn’t like it. no one but OBAMA said that people wanted him to pull the plug on grandma. I heard that from your comrades again, but that was it. I consistently heard republicans say “‘i dont’ think Obama wants to pull the plug on grandma”. funny, it was only Obama who mentioned his race… time and time again during the elections. wow. I see a trend. The idea of rationing was about people not even getting to the point where they’re on the plug, much less get it pulled. you’re old, right? hahaha, I hope this passes, and then you EXPERIENCE what we were all so worried about and come back complaining on how we didn’t tell you. (I really hope you do NOT have to go through it, but you’d definitely deserve it)
