Port Authority Tells Ahmadinejad To Take A Flying Leap

CNN is reporting that New York City officials have denied Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s request to visit “Ground Zero”, the former site of the twin towers.
The Iranian mission to the U.N. said it had not been told of the decision, but in a statement issued Wednesday evening, it called the rejection “unfortunate.”
Actually, what’s unfortunate is the fact that U.S. Soldiers in Iraq just arrested a member of Iranian Special Forces who was in Iraq delivering roadside bombs and training terrorists. Oops!
Ahmadinejad has a lot of balls asking to visit Ground Zero to “pay his respects” while his military is actively working against us in Iraq. In my opinion, we shouldn’t even let this scumbag Ahmadinejad into our country. If the UN has a problem with it, they can move their building to Iran and see how that works out for them.
Ahmadinejad Will Spew His Propoganda At Columbia University
…at the request of the Iranian government, Columbia University will host the president of a terrorist regime which is right now responsible for the deaths of American soldiers on the field of battle. Indeed, this distinguished guest, who is so honoring Columbia by his presence, will be introduced by no one less than the president of Columbia, Lee Bollinger. [source]
You can contact Lee Bollinger’s office by phone at (212) 854-9970 if you would like to express your thoughts regarding Ahmadinejad’s visit. He wasn’t available when I called, but the very nice girl who answered the phone was happy to take my message. The office hours are 8am-6pm on weekdays.
If you call, and I hope you do, remember to be nice to the people who are answering the phones. It’s not their fault Lee Bollinger is letting the leader of a terrorist state speak to his faculty and students while Iranian soldiers are killing American soldiers in Iraq.
UPDATE
Columbia University scrapped plans Thursday for a speech by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, citing security and logistical problems. The cancellation came after a Jewish activist group expressed outrage that the hard-line leader had been invited to speak.
Ahmadinejad, who was in New York for the annual U.N. General Assembly, drew widespread condemnation last year for calling the Holocaust a “myth” and saying Israel should be wiped off the map.
The New York-based Jewish Defense Organization issued a statement on its Web site criticizing Columbia University “for inviting the vicious Jew-hating President of Iran to speak on its campus.” The nationalist Jewish group’s statement singled out Columbia’s President Lee Bollinger.
“Columbia under Bollinger has opened the door to the ‘Hitler of Iran,’” the statement said.
Bollinger denounced Ahmadinejad’s past statements but defended the invitation, which was extended by the dean of Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs, Lisa Anderson.
I guess my phone call worked. HA!
