What will it take for someone in Congress to finally investigate ACORN? For years, the organization has been the focus of voter fraud investigations and recently, the explosive hidden camera video showed ACORN employees advising actors posing as a pimp and a hooker how to open a brothel filled with child prostitutes.
Now, there are two more outrageous examples of how corrupt this organization is. The first one is from New Orleans:
the local ACORN Housing Corp. office received contracts worth a combined $625,000 from the City of New Orleans for repairing existing low-income housing and developing new units in poor neighborhoods. The contracts were paid for with funds from federal Community Development Block Grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. An investigation by the Pelican Institute think tank of New Orleans, however, found that no work was actually performed to fulfill the contracts. Worse, Pelican couldn’t talk to the ACORN official managing the contracts because he had left the organization months ago. One more thing: The office address listed on the contracts for ACORN turned out to be a vacant lot, although new plumbing connections indicated a trailer had recently been located on the site.
Where did the money go? Heck, where did the building go?
Another question that comes to mind: how many other cities did this type of thing happen in?
In Oklahoma, there is evidence that ACORN had plans to encourage people to vote for Obama:
documents found in a recently vacated ACORN office included a detailed memo titled “Power Plan” for a five-year effort to elect supportive legislators and transform Oklahoma to a progressive state “in the way it was 100 years ago.” The man in charge of the office left town without paying back rent or utility bills, according to OklahmaWatchdog.org. Also found in the documents was a script for a Houston ACORN-directed recruiting campaign for “hiring Outreach Workers to remind people to get out and vote for Barack Obama in the upcoming election.” As a tax-exempt nonprofit, ACORN is barred from participating in partisan election activities, and its national spokesmen have insisted throughout the 2008 presidential race that their organization was not working to elect Obama.
Voter fraud, child prostitution, missing trailers and campaigning for Obama…
Democrats, what are you waiting for?
UPDATE:
Well, this is news:
Louisiana’s attorney general has broadened the scope of an investigation of ACORN to include a possible embezzlement of $5 million a decade ago within the community organization, five times more than previously reported.
ACORN Chief Executive Officer Bertha Lewis said the new reported amount is “completely false.”
Attorney General Buddy Caldwell has been conducting an investigation of ACORN since June. He issued subpoenas in August seeking documents related to former ACORN International President Wade Rathke and his brother Dale Rathke, who kept the group’s books. Those subpoenas were focused on possible ACORN violations for non-payment of employee withholding taxes, obstructing justice and violating the Employee Retirement Security Act. No charges have been made.
How many states is this organization being investigated in now? Is it all 57 yet?

Harry Reid has already refused to have an investigation, citing “more important” things to attend to. He knows that there are so many hands in the ACORN pie that the Democratic party could be destroyed if the full breadth of ACORN corruption is exposed.. I don’t think that’s rhetoric either.
