Get the .40. It has similar accuracy to the 9mm and similar energy to the .45. The best of both worlds. Don't get the little one. Compact is cool, but not as accurate unless you have child-size hands. There are several gun dealers in Texas who refurbish trade ins from city police depts. Get one of those for half to two thirds of new. Usually only fired a few times and exceptional maintenence. Glock is a good choice. Get the .40.
