Okay, now should this study be a good and valid reason to support the 2nd Amendment?

Thanks for the link. I buy it, instinctively. Perhaps they should add abused kids to the list, too, as I have often heard that they are hypersensitive to their environment and particularly adept at spotting aggression.

I do think (recommend) that god has nothing to do with this, or no one would die. If you take the position that 'he' does, either the guys who die deserved it or the people planting the bombs have god's protection. I certainly don't believe that and neither should you. Prayer obviously does nothing. Any study you can dig up that shows how praying deactivates bombs or preserves the lives of everyone being prayed for would also be a good study to publicize.

Nonetheless, I'm with you on the idea of figuring out how to defeat this IED issue, and on the wise expenditure of money on similar studies. The guys and gals fighting these two wars need every scientific advantage they can get.

This was a really interesting read - "focus" can mean so many different things, and independent of video games, things like chess demand a narrow field of vision (sometimes so narrow, you're not looking at the board at all). What "awareness" is - that's a really good question. It looks like it is experience with being able to tell the ordinary from something else, to know when you're in a bad situation.

I'm curious what further reports on the subject will yield. A lot of our education is geared towards narrowing our focus and working from there.
