I supported in 2008 mainly because of his social conservatism and support for the Fair Tax. I can understand some of the concerns that people have about the fair tax, it'll only work if income tax is nixed.

If Palin runs in 2012 barring something drastic happening I'll be supporting her. If she doesn't I can't say I'll be giving Huckabee a second look after this. I think he's pretty well finished. He still hasn't been able to overcome his fundraising challenges via Huck PAC. If he can't get that turned around he won't be a viable candidate in primary states.

I will keep it short, while biting my tongue, to hell with Huckabee, he wanted to give a criminal a second chance, because he thought Clemmons had found God, well, can he give those 4 dead Police Officers a second chance, or their families a second chance. I have been to enough law enforcement funerals, Huckabee failed the state of Arkansas and now those 4 officers families.

I don't even like the fair tax (as it isn't) however I agree that keeping him doing his how and not running is a very good thing. He is a big government authoritarian who wants the government to meddle in people's lives as much as the socialists.

I'm not a fan of the "FairTax" because it doesn't seem that good of a deal for consumers. for sure, the current system sucks. BUT, I think we need to hit the restart button on our current system and have a FLAT tax (not to be confused with the proposed FlatTax) that everyone pays, with no prebates/rebates/free money. If everyone paid even a tiny amount of their income (5% we'll say) with no rebates/prebates/refunds, I think our system would be a lot more stable.

Though, it's not like a new tax structure will fix anything if our government doesn't get more fiscally responsible.

The thing about Huckabee's release of prisoners: EVERY governor does it, most presidents give pardons, too. The governors listen to their parole boards, and usually follow the recommendations set forth by them. Now, why is the parole board in Arkansas so lax and ridiculous, because this is NOT the only one that Huck pardoned that has been a repeat offender. I'd say our judicial system needs an overhaul so that it's harder to get paroled/pardoned.
