Rock the Vote: No Healthcare, No Sex

Rock the Vote is a supposedly non partisan political organization created to engage young people in the world of politics. From its “About” page:

Rock the Vote’s mission is to engage and build the political power of young people in order to achieve progressive change in our country.

Rock the Vote uses music, popular culture and new technologies to engage and incite young people to register and vote in every election. And we give young people the tools to identify, learn about, and take action on the issues that affect their lives, and leverage their power in the political process.

We are creative, effective, and controlled by nobody’s agenda but our own – we tell it like it is and pride ourselves on being a trusted source for information on politics. We empower the 45 million young people in America who want to step up, claim their voice in the political process, and change the way politics is done.

They make it very clear who their target audience is. And one of the tools they are suggesting to their target audience is using sex as a way to influence political opinion. Noel Sheppard at Newsbusters writes:

The political advocacy group “Rock the Vote” has a new video out encouraging young people to abstain from having sex with folks opposed to healthcare reform.

Sadly, this isn’t your run of the mill call for celebacy, for the video also instructs youth to use sex to get people to change their minds on this issue.

Here’s the video, describing ways young people can use sex, or the refusal of sex, as a means to an end:

Sister Toldjah wants to know:

Where’s the outrage from NOW over the fact that this video encourages women to use their bodies in cheap attempts at trying to sell ObamaCare?

Great question. What I found most profound is the further degradation of intercourse to now being a tool of local politics. I know that some may think me naive, but I’m not talking about sending some skank hookers to a city councilman for a new road tube, but the presentation to young people that sex is so random that you won’t know the politics of your lover until it’s go time.

Be a whore for health reform. Nice message.

What do you think?

Hat Tip: Ace of Spades, where you can find other great questions that I won’t print here.

now that’s disturbing…. and a new low for the left, as if they could get lower…. I’m glad I could care less whether or not I get laid every night by random hot chicks that whore themselves out for leftist propaganda.

Nothing new there then. People have been using sex to persuade people to do things ever since time began.

I’m old enough to remember the ad campaign by the anti-war leftists, Joan Baez and her sisters (one of whom was Mimi Farina), that basically said, girls will sleep with boys that are anti-war.

Now you know why so many young men were vocally anti-war. They may have been hot-blooded males (and, hence, not using very much of their brains – so much space was taken up with thinking about women) – but they weren’t stupid. The message was clear – if you want to stay a virgin, express a contrary opinion.

Kinda explains how men handle the question “what are you thinking about?” that so many women ask. It always takes them a few seconds to process the request – they have to run down a list of things that they really were thinking about that they can’t mention, as it might keep them from getting laid.
