I went to Half Price Books In Des Moines in December.
I even tweeted on it:
$6.98 at Half Price Books. I love this place: http://tweetphoto.com/5918673

Because the wife and I loaded up on books, we were given some free loot to take with us. One of the things we were given was a new 2010 calendar. It now being 2010, I went to tack it up next to the computer. That’s when I saw this:

Thanks to a rapid rebound in recent months, global sea ice levels now equal those seen 29 years ago, when the year 1979 also drew to a close.
Ice levels had been tracking lower throughout much of 2008, but rapidly recovered in the last quarter. In fact, the rate of increase from September onward is the fastest rate of change on record, either upwards or downwards.
“Less that 25,000 left?” That is simply deceitful. The statement makes the reader think the polar bear population is in a state of decline. Quite the opposite:
The polar bear population has soared, rising from an estimated 5,000 polar bears 50 years ago to an estimated 25,000 today. Limiting the hunting of polar bears helped. Limiting the hunting of those delicious baby seals that polar bears like to eat also helped.
Now Canada is overrun by polar bears and there is not enough food to sustain them. There are reports that polar bears are eating other polar bears.
So, you can see there aren’t “25,000 polar bears left.” Stop using deception to sell your hoax. Oh, wait. Yeah, it’s all deception, isn’t it?
Half Price Books, you just lost a customer.
Just kidding. Your store is too awesome for me to stop shopping there. But I’m watching you now.
Get your act together.
