8 Year Old Screened By TSA as Terrorist Threat

The last time I flew, I was impressed with the professionalism of the airport security. I had no trouble with them at all. I was polite and understood that they were doing their jobs.

But if I were in the shoes of little Mikey Hicks’ parents, I don’t know that I would find myself as understanding as I have been:

According to the powers that be, Michael W. Hicks has the face of evil. Or so you might think by the way he’s questioned and patted-down before he boards an airliner.

“I don’t like getting touched in certain spots. They go like, (pat down on the side), and they do it on the sides and go like that way,” Hicks said.

Hicks is an 8-year-old Cub Scout who may not look like a terrorist, but he gets the terrorist-screening treatment every time he flies with his parents — because his name is apparently the same as someone else’s on the list.

It would make sense to me if they simply looked at the child and assumed it was not the Michael Hicks they were looking for and let him pass.

Oh, he might be a mule for someone and a danger you say? I don’t think they have the names of mules on the list he’s on. They have the list of very dangerous people. Mikey Hicks is 8.

He’s a danger to no one.

A little logic goes a long way.
