I haven’t written here for a while and I do apologize for that. I will try to get more stuff up here as I think it is a great blog and is full of fantastic information.

I attended a Tea Party as did many many others on Wed. April 15, 2009. Members of my family also attended parties all across the country and one of my brothers penned an excellent letter that I felt should be read by all of our representatives in the Senate and House so with his permission I am posting it here.

[Sender Address]

April 15, 2009

[Favorite Senator],

United States Senate,

____ Hart Senate Office Building,

Washington, DC 20510-3002.

Dear Senator ________,

The Boston Tea Party is remembered by Americans proudly as an example of protest when government wouldn’t listen to its people. In that same tradition on this tax day, and with modern “tea parties” taking place across the nation, I write to protest a broad range of actions you and your colleagues in government are pursuing in the name of “change”.

For the sake of our country and preservation of the individual rights upon which it was founded, please stop:

- spending so much money;

- passing laws you haven’t even read;

- “investing” in pet projects under the pretense of saving the economy;

- taking control of private industry;

- trying to socialize healthcare – from the comfortable shelter of your own special lifetime benefits;

- proposing legislation to rewrite mortgages, retention agreements and other valid private contracts;

- refusing to enforce existing immigration laws, and victimizing those who do;

- apologizing to other nations on our behalf;

- trying to woo the leaders of Iran, North Korea, Venezuela and now Cuba with unearned concessions; they respect power and your efforts make us appear weak;

- disrespecting publicly the service and integrity of our last President and his administration;

- imposing such an extraordinarily disproportionate share of income tax on the most productive taxpayers;

- purporting to give “refunds” and other “tax breaks” to the large and growing percentage of people who don’t even pay income tax;

- trying to legislate away the Second Amendment;

- permitting tax dollars to fund the killing of unborn and partially-born babies;

- blocking the exploration and development of our domestic energy resources; and

- pretending to able to predict and even control the earth’s climate.

Respectfully,

I Hope you understand the difference between the three candidates, but just in case you don’t, here is a little parable to help.

John McCain, Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama were walking down a Washington, D.C. Street when they came upon a homeless person. The Republican, McCain, gave the homeless person his business card and told him to come to his office for a job. He then took $20 out of his pocket and gave it to the homeless person.

Hillary was very impressed, so when they came upon another homeless person, she decided to help. She walked over to the homeless person and gave him directions to the welfare office. She then reached into McCain’s pocket and got out $20. She kept $15 for her administrative fees and gave the homeless person $5.

When they came upon yet another homeless person, Barak told the homeless person to “Have
Hope. Change is coming,” and gave him nothing.

Now, do you understand The Differences?

There are always some good jokes around election time. Lets post a bunch here in the comments. Here is one to get things started.

Presidential candidates Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John Mc Cain were
flying to a debate.
Barack looked at Hillary, chuckled and said, “You know I could throw a
$1,000 bill out of the window right now and make somebody very happy.”
Hillary shrugged her shoulders and replied, “I could throw ten $100 bills
out of the window
and make ten people very happy.”

John added, “That being the case, I could throw one hundred $10 bills out of
the
window and make a hundred people very happy.”

Hearing their exchange, the pilot rolled his eyes and said to his copilot,
“Such
big-shots back there. I could throw all three of them out of the window and
make 156 million people very happy.”

I’m voting for the Pilot

Hillary Clinton has appealed to the SCOTUS to ask that several of Obama’s states be awarded to her and that she be guaranteed a minimum number of future state delegates in order to fulfill the quotas of states won by women. There is a rumor that she may have included language that indicates she may also be attempting to qualify as a minority as a white women in NY.

According to Clinton Strategist Mark Penn, It seems that she believes that if we include the number of illegals in New York state she should qualify as a minority and should therefore qualify for additional benefits and guarantees of both equal time and an increase to her baseline of votes. This is how affirmative action may come to our elections.

The Obama camp fired back that they were now expecting to get a larger bump themselves as this would then qualify Obama as a member of both the Black minority (no longer even the majority minority) and also a member of the white minority in the Chicago area. A spokesperson for the Obama camp said that there were internal deliberations on whether they should file a separate suit or try to include themselves in Hillary’s case.

Chief Justice Roberts has not provided any indication on whether or not the court will consider the case. There is some discussion that if they courts will not hear arguments, Hillary may take her case directly to the House and Senate in an effort to change the law. President Bush has already said he will veto any bill dealing with assigning delegates based on anything other than the will of the people.

John McCain today made a surprise endorsement of Hillary Clinton for the Democratic Nomination. McCain and Mrs Clinton joined together to make the announcement today after spending the afternoon skiing in Utah.

Hillary spoke first at the press conference thanking John McCain. “John is a great Senator and I look forward to working with him when I am President” Hillary Joked. When McCain was asked why he had endorsed Hillary he replied “Hillary is not only tough on the War on Terror, she is TOUGH, I mean, When I picture myself in the voting booth, you see, if I am choosing between myself and Barack Obama for President, it would be an easy choice. Me! If I am choosing between Hillary and myself, well, I am not sure yet who I would vote for. ” This is just one more reason why this is shaping up to be an interesting election cycle!

Some have suggested that perhaps Clinton and McCain could end up as each others running mates. This would certain make for some interesting Debates! Hillary – McCain Presidential debates and McCain – Hillary Vice Presidential debates. Todays announcement came after the two spend the day campaigning outdoors in Utah at several local ski resorts.
